project two: projected realities

CHANDLER:
“A Day in the Life: Robby Massey
In all honesty, I’m not sure how to start this because Robby really doesn’t have a set schedule like I do. Work days, travel days, and sit days. For the purpose of this project though, I’m choosing to describe a typical workday for Robby.
So it’s around 7 AM in Robby’s hotel room, he has a pillow over his head and I’m willing to assume that an alarm is going off, but I’m really not sure. From there, he’ll probably amble over to the bathroom, pulling at his boxers which have gotten all twisted up from his tossing and turning.
He’ll take a shower and get dressed which will probably include wearing a white v-neck and some sort of pant with varying degrees of length i.e. pants, shorts, hot pants. He’ll talk with Jose and then gather on a bus where he is taken to wherever the show will be. There Robby will “load-in” (I’m not exactly sure what this entails, but I think it involves a lot of manual labor and grunting and sweat, therefore justifying the wearing of hot pants- LES JUST SAY I AIN’T COMPLAININ’).
12:19 After “load-in”, Robby will help set up (I’m really just winging it at this point). At around 3 PM he’ll receive a call from me full of gush and background noise consisting of Sesame Street songs (him) and seventeen-year-old boys saying, “yeah bro I got HELLA faded…titties…weed….football, etc..” (me).  After that, he might have one more show he has to do before retiring for the day. He’ll go back to his hotel room, and we’ll talk for a bit before he goes to dinner at __________ [Applebee’s, Olive Garden, Chili’s].  When he returns from dinner, he’ll support me in my work for the night. We’ll talk until our talking turns into sleepy mumbles and then snuggle up in our separate beds, counting down the days.”

ROBBY:
“she wakes up. it is six am and there is a text on her phone. she reads it, responds, and then heads for a shower (which is not in her bathroom, but her parents’). working through that to the coffee on the other end, she begins to wake up. the day holds a schedule full of stress and funny events; sometimes they balance out and sometimes they don’t. the day begins and there is class after class for her to sift through, most of the subjects seem interesting and engaging but are presented in a dulling way. if the day could get longer, she’d not be surprised, but it ends and she is home. the texts she’s been receiving throughout the day have culled any worry or anxiety that would’ve manifested, and now she is able to talk openly with the sender. the night progresses and as do the talks. sleep will come soon and another day will attempt to chip away at her good disposition, but for now all is okay.”
